Clackamas County's 11 high school girls soccer teams previewed for 2021 campaigns.

After powering through a pandemic-shortened 2020 season last spring, the varsity girls soccer teams from Clackamas County's 11 high schools are ready do things right in 2021.

That group includes returning league champions from Clackamas, Lake Oswego, Wilsonville and Gladstone.

Three Rivers League

Lake Oswego

Head coach: Foday Kabba

2020-21 record: 6-1 in Three Rivers League play, 6-5 overall

2021 outlook: "We have a chance to be a very good team. How far we get towards achieving our goals for this season will depend on how we maintain our hunger, intensity and discipline." — Foday Kabba

Title contenders: Tigard, Canby, Lakeridge, West Linn, Tualatin, Oregon City, St. Mary's

Lakeridge

Head coach: Nick Lewis

2020-2021 record: 5-0-2 in Three Rivers League play, 8-1-2 overall

2021 outlook: "We are looking forward to having another successful season. We have a good mix of returning players as well as some new faces that will add depth to the team. This group we will be looking to compete for the TRL title." — Nick Lewis

Title contenders: Lakeridge, Lake Oswego, Tualatin

Top players: Senior goalkeeper Abby Pressnell, senior forward Mayah Greenfield, junior defender Molly Bachman, senior forward Tessa French.

Oregon City

Head coach: Marshall Brewer

2020-21 record: 0-4-3 in Three Rivers League play, 3-5-3 overall

2021 outlook: "We have a solid group returning along with a great group of first-time varsity players. Once we come together more, we should be competing for one of the top three spots in the TRL."

Title contenders: Lake Oswego, Oregon City

West Linn

Head coach: Madison Campbell

2020-21 record: 2-3-1 in Three Rivers League play, 2-6-3 overall

2021 outlook: "We have a lot of senior leadership and a lot of talented players. I believe, if we can focus and execute our passes and finishes in the final third, we will be one of the best teams in the league." — Madison Campbell

Title contenders: Lakeridge, Lake Oswego

Mt. Hood Conference

Clackamas

Head coach: Gary Maass

2020-21 record: 5-1-0 in Mt. Hood Conference play, 6-4-1 overall

2021 outlook: "It'll be an interesting year with the new high school opening up in Clackamas, but the girls are excited and looking forward to the season." — Gary Maass

Title contenders: Barlow

Nelson

Head coach: Michelle McHone

2020-21 record: N/A (first-year team)

2021 outlook: "We are a young team, but we are showing strength and desire at all positions. We look forward to a successful season." — Michelle McHone

Milwaukie

2021 outlook: "We are a very young program. We are emerging from a … rebuild of our school (and) facilities in the last few years along with the health crisis." — Kent McCarty

Putnam

Head coach: Bella Bixby

2020-21 record: 2-5-1 in Northwest Oregon Conference play, 2-5-1 overall

2021 outlook: "I think we will have a foundational back line that will strive for shutouts, a technical threat in our midfield paired with pace up top. We have a lot of experienced upperclassmen leading the group this season." — Bella Bixby

Title contenders: Wilsonville, La Salle

Wilsonville

2021 outlook: "We gained confidence from our performance last season and are fortunate to return a lot of talent for a very deep roster. If this team continues to play with heart, grit and trust in each other, then the sky's the limit." — Alex Boehm

Tri-Valley Conference

Gladstone

2021 outlook: "We should have a chance to finish the top of the conference for the fourth year in a row, if we can stay healthy and develop some consistency in our play." — Tyler Lewis
