Battle for the Lake goes to Lakers
Lake Oswego High School owns bragging rights for another year in the annual Battle for the Lake as they defeated Lakeridge High School 42-21 in the 67th annual rivalry game.
The Lakers were dominant in the first half and set the tone early when Laker senior quarterback Jack Layne hit senior Justius Lowe on a deep pass from midfield setting Lake Oswego up at the Pacer 6-yard line.
The Lakers would go on to score four touchdowns in the first half and led 28-0 by the middle of the second quarter before the Pacers could put together a consistent drive and score just before half-time.
The Laker defense was dominant in the first half aided by both a fumble recovery and an interception that stymied Pacer drives.
The Lakers head into the playoffs as the #1 seed and play the visiting Newberg Tigers Friday night at 7:00 p.m..
The Pacers advance to the playoffs as #10 seed and will also play Friday night at home at 7:00 p.m. against the visiting Grant Generals.
