Among the award winners at the Oregon State Fair were three calligraphers from a Lake Oswego studio

SUBMITTED PHOTO - Heirloom Artists Calligraphers of Lake Oswego received three awards at the 2017 Oregon State Fairs calligraphers exhibit in August. Holly Monroe, owner of Heirloom Artists, received Best of Show for her piece titled Achiever, which describes the attributes of people who are achievers.  Heirloom Artists Calligraphers was founded by Monroes parents, Clifford and Jean Mansley. Clifford Mansley received an honorable mention for his colorful rendition of a quotation by Clarence Darrow titled The Criminal Defense Attorney. Heather Barton of Canby, a contract worker with Heirloom Artists Calligraphers, received an honorable mention for her calligraphy work as well. Monroe is the principal artist at Heirloom Artists Calligraphers and has taught at numerous International Calligraphy Guilds across the nation.
