West Linn artist and art administrator Jan Rimerman has announced that Rain Spark Gallery will open Nov. 1 in Lake View Village, between Fleet Feet and Sur la Table in downtown Lake Oswego.
This is the eighth year that local artists have collaborated to present their art for sale in one place. Rimerman says 27 of the 35 artists represented have shown in all eight of the holiday gallery shows.
The artists create art in every medium, including photography, ceramics, sculpture, fiber arts, wearable fiber and jewelry, paintings and more.
Gallery hours will be 11 a.m.-7 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 11 a.m.-5 p.m. Sunday. Receptions will be held each Thursday from 5-7 p.m., featuring Tumwater Vineyard's wines.
Rimerman says the popular Community Treasure Hunt will begin Dec. 1. A number of handcrafted porcelain ornaments will be hidden around the downtown Lake Oswego area.
People who find an ornament get to keep it, but they also receive a discount on purchases at Rain Spark Gallery.
"Clues will be launched every morning at 4:30 a.m.," said Rimerman. "This year, look for blue-and-white porcelain dragonflies with vintage crochet imprinted, created by Dorothy Steele."
