Blue Heron board meeting set

The Blue Heron Neighborhood Association will hold its annual board meeting from 7 to 8:30 p.m. March 17 at 3320 Southshore Blvd., Lake Oswego.

Easter egg hunt on calendar

The West Linn and West Linn Riverview Lions Clubs once again will host their annual Easter egg hunt starting at 10 a.m. Saturday, April 20, at the West Linn High School football field, 5464 W A St., West Linn.

Children will be divided by age or grades; there are three special prizes to be found in each age group.

Egg hunters are urged to get to the field early.

Arbor Day Foundation has free trees

The Arbor Day Foundation is offering 10 free trees to those who join the foundation during the month of March.

Members have the choice of receiving white pines or white flowering dogwoods, and also will receive planting instructions. The six- to 12-inch trees are guaranteed to grow or they will be replaced.

To become a member of the foundation, visit,march or send a $10 contribution by March 31 to Arbor Day Foundation, 100 Arbor Ave., Nebraska City, NE 68410, designating which tree you wish to receive.

GOP women to meet at new site

The Lake Oswego Republican Women will meet March 19 at a new location, The Stafford, 1200 Overlook Drive in Lake Oswego. The event begins with social time at 11:30 a.m. and lunch at noon. The guest speaker is Jessica Stanton, lobbyist for Oregon Right to Life. She has been published in The American Feminist, writing an article on Michigan's coerced abortion law, which provides legal recourse for women who are coerced into having abortions. She will speak on several current topics, including effective citizen lobbying efforts.

Cost of the luncheon meeting is $22, payable by cash or check. Reservations can be made by calling Cathy at 503-430-4879 by March 15.
