West Linn Parks and Recreation urges families to get signed up for summer camps now, as camps will fill up.

How will your children spend summer vacation? West Linn Parks and Recreation has several camps planned for kids ages 4 to 17.

West Linn's longest running summer camp program is the Fun in the Sun day camp for ages 6 to 12 years. It is led by Parks and Recreation staff and held at Willamette Park, 1100 12th St. Camps are held 9 a.m. to 3 p.m Monday through Friday, and include field trips. Trips include:

  • June 17-21, Smith and Bybee Wetlands

  • June 24-28, Oregon Zoo

  • July 1-3, John's Incredible Pizza (reduced fee of $66 for this short week)

  • July 8-1, End of the Oregon Trail

  • July 15-19, Oaks Park

  • July 22-26,OMSI

  • July 29-Aug. 2, Lake Theater

  • Aug. 5-9, Ultrazone

  • Aug. 12-16, John's Incredible Pizza

  • Aug. 19-23, Sky High Sports

    A full week of registration is required to attend the field trip. Daily drop-in is available on a first come, first serve basis on site if space is available. Cost is $110 for West Linn residents and $115 for anyone outside of the city. The daily drop-in fee is $30. A discount of $20 is offered for families with multiple children registered for the same camp and same week.

    The Jordan Kent Skills Camp, a multisport camp, is new to West Linn and offered to kids ages 6-12 years. These weeklong camps offer beginning to intermediate fundamental training in football, soccer or basketball where your camper will participate in skill training, agility training, games and nutrition education, all taught in an exciting and engaging camp atmosphere. Both options include a T-shirt and post camp goodie.

    Sessions are July 8-11 or Aug. 5-8 at a cost $149.95 per week for half day (9 a.m. to 1 p.m.) or $179.95 per week for full day (9 a.m. to 3 p.m.). Scholarships are available.
