The Lake Oswego Public Golf Course is the place to spend your summer. Visit the pro shop to learn about individual play, clinics and golf group sessions. Here is a sampling of what is offered:

Kool Kidz Clinics — These fun-filled beginner clinics get new recruits up to speed on the basics and enjoying the game in no time. Please arrive 10 minutes early. No make-ups. Only registered students may attend. Next level is Kool Kidz Clinic (Birdie Hunters). For ages 6-9, 10-11:30 a.m., Mondays, June 17 and 24, or 9 a.m.-noon, Thursday, June 27, Public Golf Course, $50.

Women's Golf Day — Women can enjoy a free round of golf after noon on Tuesday, June 4, then attend a free clinic with Tom Mueller from 6-8 p.m., covering a variety of golf topics. Call for a tee time or reserve on-line beginning May 28.

Golf Adult Summer Leagues

Friday Night Duos League — Two player teams. Players encouraged to stay for dinner at LV's 19th Hole Bistro. Weekly Scramble format play begins Friday, June 7 and continues through Aug. 30. Tee times run from 5:30-6:40 p.m., call 503-534-5430 to schedule. Greens fee is $40 weekly per team; includes green fees, prize fund and a drink ticket for each player. Additionally $20 per team dues payable at first play. Dues furnish season end prizes for top teams in each flight. Thursday S.O. (Scoring Optional) Fun League — Individual league for players of any gender who just want to have fun and not compete. Only rule: Players must complete 9 holes in 90 minutes, any way they can. Weekly play beginning Thursday, June 6 through Aug. 29. Tee times run from 8 to 9:30 a.m. Week 1 tee times assigned by staff; after that a weekly sign-up sheet will be provided. Men's Saturday Morning Singles League — This is an 18-hole league open to men with weekly play beginning Saturday, June 8 and continuing through Aug. 31 (no league June 29). Tee times run from 7:30 to 9 a.m. Rotating format competition each week. Fees are $30 weekly, includings deuce pot, green fee, game of the day, small range bucket. Dedication of New Turf Fields at East Waluga Park

Batter up! It's time for some summer fun at the ball park. Swing on over to East Waluga Park on Saturday, June 1 for a commemorative dedication of the new turf fields at 10:30 a.m.  Festivities include lawn games, a ceremonial first pitch and of course Cracker Jacks. The fun continues with baseball games on both fields beginning at 11:45 a.m.  Join Lake Oswego Parks & Recreation for this all star celebration — it's sure to be a grand slam. 

Discover the Artist Within

Bob Ross — Arizona Morning. Enjoy this easy step-by-step class suitable for beginners to seasoned painters. Take home your own unique masterpiece at the end of the one-day class. All supplies provided. Visit to view paintings. For ages 12+, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Thursday, June 6, Adult Community Center, $49.

CPR Certification

Adult CPR, First Aid and AED Training — Get certified in cardiopulmonary Resusitation. Learn to recognize and respond appropriately to cardiac, breathing and first aid emergencies or give immediate care to a suddenly injured or ill person. Students receive certification upon completion of class. For ages 10+, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., Saturday, June 15, Christ Church Parish (CCP), $99.
