Donate clothing to LifeChange program
Sherry Dorn and Dawn Irwin of Lake Oswego encourage citizens to help make Union Gospel Mission (UGM) and Directors Mortgage's Summer of Style clothing drive successful for LifeChange graduates.
Union Gospel Mission's LifeChange program for women and their children provides a safe, healing home for women and women with children to transform their lives. The program is for women struggling with abuse, addiction or homelessness and is a safe environment to heal from past traumas and to learn how to break free of destructive choices.
LifeChange is not a clinical treatment "program" or a series of steps. It is an intentional Christian community where people help and support each other to break cycles of addiction, abuse and homelessness and live a transformed and abundant life in Jesus.
"For the clothes drive we are asking for donated, clean, professinal, gently-used clothing," said Dorn, a volunteer for the clothing drive. "The clothes give graduates an opportunity to wear something nice and appropriate for interviews and the work place."
Clothes can be dropped off at Directors Mortgage, 4550 Kruse Way suite 275, Lake Oswego through the month of July.
The LifeChange participants will graduate the program in mid-August.
