The West Linn Lions Club has selected Ron Adams as the 2019 Les DeJardin Community Service award winner.

The award is given in honor of Les DeJardin, a charter member of the club whose community service and philanthropy were renowned in the community.

Adams' selection was unanimous based on his ongoing service to the club and the community. He has served as the club's president, vice president and membership chairman, and estimates he has cooked more than 8,186 burgers during his 32 years as a member. He has chaired the scholarship program for the past 15 years. The club has given more than $94,000 in scholarships to West Linn High seniors.

Adams recently retired from the Clackamas Community College Board of Directors and was selected as Oregon Community College Board Member of the Year in 2018. He was a state representative in "another century" (1993-'98), and claims to be a "recovering politician."
