FRCC hosting propavgation class

The Friends of the Rogerson Clematis Collection will continue its series of classes with a propagation clematis class Nov. 9 from 10 a.m. to noon at the Rogerson Clematis Garden at Luscher Farm, 125 Rosemont Road, West Linn. Attendees will learn techniques for saving and harvesting clematis seed, how to clean, store and start them and which species need soaking or a false period of cold to germinate. All materials and seeds are provided, and attendees will leave with seeds started and surplus seeds to grow on your own.

Cost is $25 or $10 for FRCC members and free for FRCC Patron and Duchess level members.

Volunteers needed for AARP TaxAide program

AARP (American Association of Retired Persons) is seeking volunteers to serve as tax preparers for its AARP TaxAide program. No experience is necessary. Classes are available to learn using computerized tax programs and tax law as it pertains to 2019 taxes. Lakewood Theatre Company will hold its annual holiday gala to benefit its Rising Star program and performance and education opportunities for artists Nov. 16 from 5:30 to 9:30 p.m. at The Sentinel Hotel, 614 SW 11th Ave. in Portland. The event includes a catered dinner, beverages, performances by LTC's Rising Stars, silent auction and dancing to the music of designband.
