Veterans Memorial celebration set for Nov. 11

The City of Lake Oswego is sponsoring a Veterans Day celebration at the Veterans Memorial to honor those who have served our nation at 11 a.m. Nov. 11. The Veterans Memorial is located at Foothills Park, 199 Foothills Drive, Lake Oswego. The program includes a flyover by the West Coast Ravens, a color guard, invocation and more. The event is free and open to all.

Volunteers needed for AARP TaxAide program

AARP (American Association of Retired Persons) is seeking volunteers to serve as tax preparers for its AARP TaxAide program. No experience is necessary. Classes are available to learn using computerized tax programs and tax law as it pertains to 2019 taxes. Family Promise of Tualatin Valley hosting Eat, Drink and Be Giving

Family Promise of Tualatin Valley invites all to attend Eat, Drink and Be Giving, a benefit event taking place at Vine & Sparrow, 22418 SW Pine St. in Sherwood from 5:30 to 8 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 16. The event features local, handcrafted beverages, passed hors d'oeuvres and a harvest dinner served by Divine Catering with entertainment by LaRhonda Steele, Portland's First Lady of the Blues. There will be a program and a paddle raising fundraiser.
