Annual holiday concert; Covers for kids; Golf Course Special; Volunteer opportunities

Portland jazz saxophonist Patrick Lamb will present Tis the Season of Soul Dec. 8 at Lake Oswego High School auditorium. Get tickets now. Want to add a little ho-ho-ho to your holiday?

Then plan on attending the annual holiday concert. This year's concert is titled 'Tis the Season of Soul and features the Patrick Lamb Band.

Lamb is the Billboard-charting saxophone sensation and Oregon Music Hall of fame inductee. He has garnered international fame touring with numerous Grammy winning artists such as Gino Vannelli, Diane Schuur and Smokey Robinson. 

Lamb's groove-driven performance is sure to put you and yours in the holiday spirit. Concert proceeds benefit the Lake Oswego Adult Community Center.

The concert is from 2-4 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 8, in the Lake Oswego High School Auditorium. Special thanks to Presenting Sponsor, Oswego Wealth Management.

Tickets are $22 for adults and $15 for youth (0-12 years) and can be purchased online at lakeoswego.city/holidayconcert or by calling 503-675-2549.

Covers for kids

Help make a difference in a child's life. Youth Action Council (YAC) is collecting raw fleece to make and decorate blankets for the Clackamas Children's Center, a resource and assessment center for youth who are victims of abuse or neglect. The YAC is committed to providing one-of-a-kind blankets that each child can call their own. Fleece is needed for this project.

Donations can be raw fleece or completed blankets (unused only please). Fabric is available at any fabric store. Donations can be dropped off at LO Parks & Recreation/LO Municipal Golf Course, 17525 Stafford Road; LO Adult Community Center, 505 G Ave.; City Hall, 380 A Ave; LO Library, 706 4th St.; Lake Oswego High School, 2501 Country Club Road; Lakeridge High School, 1235 Overlook Drive; LO Teen Lounge, 1060 Chandler Road. Golf Course Special

Take advantage of our once a year sale on driving range cards for you or the golfer in your life. Make a stop at the public golf course and pick-up our specially priced range cards beginning on Black Friday, Nov. 29, or purchase online at lakeoswegogolf.org .

Purchases are limited to five cards per customer. Sale ends Jan. 31, 2020. Buy 10 large baskets of range balls for $55 (regularly $90); 10 medium sized baskets of balls for $45 (regularly $70) or 10 small baskets of range balls for $30 (regularly $50).

Volunteer opportunities

Get 2020 off to a great start by volunteering and having fun at the same time. A variety of opportunities await.

Get Involved at the Teen Lounge — Volunteer opportunities for high school students. In order to volunteer you must be available for a minimum of two-hour shifts at a time, and attend a volunteer orientation. Complete the Teen Lounge Volunteer Application at www.LOTeenScene.org and click on "Working and Volunteering at the Lounge."

Class information is in the Parks & Recreation Activities Guide and online at www.loparks.org. Nonresidents generally pay more than fees shown. Scholarships are also available for Lake Oswego residents.
