Art of Makeup hosting FX demo, open house
The Art of Makeup School, 11830 SW Kerr Parkway suite 211 in Portland, will host an open house and FX makeup demonstration from 3-6 p.m. Nov. 30 at the school. Attendees can learn about a career in makeup artistry and watch guest artist Rachael Wagner apply and paint an original design.
The event is free and open to all, however RSVP are requested as treats and makeup giveaways will be provided.

Donate blood, get an Amazon gift card
The American Red Cross (ARC) is making it easy and rewarding to save lives this holiday season. The ARC urges eligible donors to be the lifeline for patients in need of blood or plasma by making an appointment to give blood or plasma. While helping save lives is likely motivation enough, those who come out to give blood between now and Dec. 18 will receive a $5 Amazon.com gift card via email, courtesy of Suburban Propane.
Blood drives will take place in Lake Oswego Dec. 3, from 2:30-8 p.m. at the LDS Stake, 14903 Westlake Drive; 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Dec. 6 at City Hall, 380 A Ave., and Dec. 12 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the 5800 Meadows Building, 5800 SW Meadows Road, first floor boardroom.
West Linn blood drives will be held Dec. 18 from 1-6 p.m. at the West Linn Adult Community Center, 1180 Rosemont Road; Dec. 21 from 8 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at West Linn Lutheran Church, 20390 Willamette Drive, and Dec. 21 form 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at The Summit, 22220 Salamo Road.

Windermere collecting coats, blankets for Share the Warmth campaign
Real estate brokers with Windermere Real Estate are collecting new or gently used adult-sized coats and twin-sized blankets for community members in need through Dec. 18. The donations will be given to Transition Projects, a nonprofit that helps individuals transition out of homelessness to secure housing.
