Meetings cancelled due to health concerns
As an observance of caution, the Genealogical Forum of Oregon is postponing its free Genealogy Open House which was to begin March 13 and run for 10 days.
"As coronavirus has been detected in the Portland metro area, people are increasingly worried about gathering in public groups," said Vince Patton, president of GFO. "All 40 free classes will be rescheduled to this fall. Special guest speaker John Schmal, ex-
pert on Mexican ancestry is also postponing his ap-
pearance originally schedul-ed for the evening of March 18."
The GFO library remains open for family history research.
The Lake Oswego Women's Coalition meeting scheduled for March 18 at The Stafford has been cancelled as a health precaution due to coronavirus.
Karen Faw of LOWC said she was told by Julie Hebert of The Stafford that "all events have been cancelled this month."
It is assumed the LOWC will hold its April 15 meeting at The Stafford.
