We are pleased to share the lineup for this year's concerts which will take place Thursday evenings

COURTESY PHOTO  - West Linn Parks and Recreation has many options of soccer instruction to introduce children to the world's most popular game. Sign up now. It is never too soon to start daydreaming about the warmth and relaxed feeling we enjoy during summer in West Linn.

And making it all the more enjoyable is the West Linn Parks' Music in the Parks concert series. We are pleased to share the lineup for this year's concerts which will take place Thursday evenings from 6:30-8:30 p.m. at Tanner Creek Park, located at 3456 Parker Road, running July 23 through Aug. 20. Here's the lineup:

— Kicking off the series July 23 will be Bad Moon Riders, a Creedence Clearwater Revival tribute band. They will take you back to the golden era of rock.

— July 30 we'll welcome Glass of Hearts, a premiere female-fronted Blondie tribute powerhouse will deliver a punk, disco and high energy performance.

— Blues fans will revel in the guitar master of Norman Sylvest Aug. 6.

— Beloved local band Remedy will bring their rock to the park Aug. 13.

— Expect to be wowed Aug. 20 by Dance Hall Days, a band that brings fresh sound to every song.

— Wrapping up the series will be Cloverdayle, featuring West Linn natives Chad and Rachel Hamer who have made it big in Nashville's country music scene.

Remember to pack your chairs and picnics or purchase local foods, snacks and beverages from vendors at the park.

Spring soccer season has started — get involved! Here are some training sessions for youngsters:

Mommy/Daddy & Me Soccer —  (ages 2- 3½ ) Introduce yourself and your toddler to the "world's most popular game." As you and your child participate in our fun age appropriate activities, your child will be developing large motor skills and socialization skills.

The fun happens on the field, and in Mommy/Daddy & Me Soccer, parents are part of the action, not watching from the sidelines. All participants receive a Kidz Love Soccer jersey. For ages 2 to 3 1/2. Fee is $94. Two sessions offered: 5:30-6 p.m. Wednesdays, April 1 through May 6 or 9 to 9:30 a.m. Saturdays, April 4 through May 9 at Tanner Creek Park.  

Tot & Pre-Soccer — Little tykes enjoy running and kicking just like the big kids. Children learn to follow instructions in a nurturing, age appropriate environment. All participants receive a Kidz Love Soccer jersey. For ages 3 1/2 - 5. Fee is $94. Two sessions offered. Meets 4:45-5:20 p.m. Wednesdays, April 1 through May 6 or 9:40-10:15 a.m. Saturdays, April 4 through May 9 at Tanner Creek Park.

Soccer 1 Techniques & Teamwork — Players learn to dribble, pass, receive, shoot, defend and more with fun skill games played at every session and a ball for every participant. Small-sided soccer matches will be introduced gradually. All participants receive a Kidz Love Soccer jersey. For ages 5-6. Fee is $94. Two sessions offered: 4-4:45 p.m. Wednesdays, April 1 through May 6 or 10:15-11 a.m. Saturdays, April 4 through May 9 at Tanner Creek Park.

Soccer 2: Skillz & Scrimmages — Children ages 7-10 will enjoy advanced skill building in dribbling, passing and shooting in a team play format. Each class focuses on scrimmages that emphasize application of finer technical points. All levels are welcome to come enjoy the world's most popular game. All participants receive a Kidz Love Soccer jersey. Fee is $79. Meets 11-11:45 a.m. Saturdays, April 1 through May 9 at Tanner Creek Park.
