Students invited to submit art for Safe Routes to School poster
Clackamas County Safe Routes to School (SRTS) and Clackamas County Arts Alliance (CCAA) are announcing the second annual SRTS Poster Art Contest. Students are invited to submit original artwork about the benefits of walking, biking, rolling and using other ways to get to school. Artwork should show how these modes can be fun, healthy and good for the environment.
Students can enter to win prizes and have their artwork featured on posters, brochures and more and displayed at an exhibit sponsored by CCAA. Artwork will be judged based on original concept, visual design and composition, communication of the theme and storytelling. Children in kindergarten through grade eight are invited to participate. Prizes include $100 gift card for first place, $50 gift card for second place and $25 gift card for third place in three age categories: K-2, 3-5 and 6-8. Honorable mention awards may be given as well.
Students should mail or deliver their hand drawn art to one of the following sites by Thursday, April 30:

— Estacada City Hall, 475 S.E. Main St., Estacada
— Molalla River Middle School, 318 Leroy Ave., Molalla
— North Clackamas Aquatic Park, 7300 S.E. Harmony Road, Milwaukie
— SMART Transit-Wilsonville, 28879 S.W. Boberg Road, Wilsonville.
