LOACC: Watch and discuss the movie 'Pursuing Happiness'
Every year the ranking of the happiness countries is published; in 2020 Northern Europe hogs the top seven spots and the United States lands in the 18th spot. 18th! Why are we not happier? The ACC is hosting a watch and discuss party via Zoom on Thursday, Nov. 19 from 1-3 p.m. with the movie "Pursuing Happiness." It's a documentary about finding the happiest people in America directed by Adam Shell and released in 2015. Adam and his crew go from coast to coast in the pursuit of happiness. After the movie we will have a discussion with thought provoking questions such as, Is happiness a state of mind? Is happiness influenced by our material wealth? Is true happiness obtainable? At this time, we are not able to host lunch in the dining room. We are offering Meals on Wheels to those that qualify and lunch to go for pick up. For more information on either option, please call the center. Lunch this week is as follows, Friday, Nov. 13 – BBQ beef, Monday, Nov. 16 – corn chowder, Wednesday, Nov. 18 – chicken LoMein. The cost of the meals is a suggested donation of $4 for those 60 and over and a $5 fee for everyone else. The lunch menu is subject to change without notice due to COVID-19. The LOACC is located at 505 G Ave., Lake Oswego, 97034.
