Mark your calendar for Winter/Spring 2021 registration day that begins Dec. 7 at 10 a.m. for Lake Oswego residents. We will get 2021 off to a great start with a selection of classes and camps that will meet the needs of every age level and interest. For your convenience register at loparks.org, or call 503-675-2549. Non-resident registration will begin Dec. 14 at 10 a.m.

Holiday Dance Class

Petit Nutcracker Dance Class – Join the excitement by learning characterizations and dance variations from the nutcracker ballet. Transform into a dancing toy soldier or a beautiful Sugar Plum Fairy using fun props and Nutcracker Ballet music. Ages 4-8, 9:30 a.m.-12 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 19, Academy of Ballet and Dance, $49.

Adult Dance

Ballroom Dance I – Learn the staple of Ballroom dance, the smooth Foxtrot and the fun and lively Latin dance, Cha Cha Cha! Students are ready for the dance floor after learning the basics and beyond in these two Ballroom rhythms.

Ballroom Dance II – Take the basic steps you learned in the beginning class and add some flair. Build a series of routines in all styles of dance you have learned through the beginning classes.

Price is per person. Couples only for Winter 2021 due to COVID-19.

Ballroom Dance I – Ages 16+, 7-8 p.m., Thursdays, Jan. 7-Feb. 25, Christ Church Parish (CCP), $67.

Ballroom Dance II – Ages 16+, 8-9 p.m., Thursdays, Jan. 7-Feb. 25, CCP, $67.

Line Dance for Adults – Join this fun and very popular class. Learn the basic patterns, steps and dances. Bring your friends and meet others who enjoy moving to the beat. Social distancing observed. Price per person. No partner needed. Ages 16+, 7-8 p.m., Jan. 4-Feb. 22, CCP, $37.

Tai Chi Classes

Tai Chi- Very Beginning – A slow paced, low impact, gentle movement art based on the Yang family 24-movement Short From. Practice meditative mind-body exercise with slow and rhythmical movements to increase balance, flexibility and muscle strength, and enhance well-being. Designed for beginning students, this class introduces Tai Chi concepts and forms 1 through 12. Social distancing will be observed. Ages 18+, 9:15-10:15 a.m., Monday/Thursday, Jan. 7-Feb. 25, CCP, $71.

Tai Chi for Health FREE Try-It-Out – Ages 18+, 4-5 p.m., Monday, Jan. 4, CCP, Free.

Tai Chi for Health, Balance and Relaxation – This class teaches the Yang style long form and two traditional Chi Kung exercises. Tai Chi practice reduces stress, improves balance and promotes better health. This class is taught in a relaxed manner. Social distancing observed. Ages 18+, 4-5 p.m., Mondays, Jan. 11-Feb. 22, CCP, $42.
