LOACC: How has commercialization changed cannabis?
You have heard them say, "this isn't your parents' pot," and according to Ben Cort that statement is true. Ben Cort is an author and addiction treatment specialist who focuses on marijuana education and consulting in the substance use disorder treatment field. Cannabis has become a multibillion-dollar global industry for everything from pens to gummies. In the Ted Talk by Ben he shares his frustration that people are getting rich selling unnaturally potent products. Please join us for this eye-opening talk where Ben Cort examines the unseen impacts of the commercialization of cannabis. Following the viewing of the Ted Talk, we will have a discussion on the topic. Viewing and discussion will be on Wednesday, Jan. 27 from 1-2 p.m., call 503-635-3758 to register. At this time, we are not able to host lunch in the dining room. We are offering Meals on Wheels to those that qualify and lunch to go for pick up. For more information on either option, please call the center. Lunch this week is as follows, Friday, Jan. 15 – biscuits and gravy, Monday, Jan. 18 – CLOSED, Wednesday, Jan. 20 – roast turkey. The cost of the meals is a suggested donation of $4 for those 60 and over and a $5 fee for everyone else. The lunch menu is subject to change without notice due to COVID-19.
