ALED is a behavior change program intended to help adults overcome their barriers to physical activity.

Beginning March 3, the Lake Oswego Adult Community Center is offering Active Living Every Day (ALED). ALED is a behavior change program intended to help adults, including older adults, sedentary adults, adults with arthritis or other chronic conditions, to overcome their barriers to physical activity. ALED aims to help participants set goals, increase physical activity and find an activity they enjoy. This 12-week, evidence-based virtual program is on Wednesdays from 1-2 p.m., beginning March 3 and ending May 19. Each class includes a short lecture, group discussion and planning. No physical activity takes place during class; participants exercise independently outside of class based on their individual goals. At this time, we are not able to host lunch in the dining room. We are offering Meals on Wheels to those that qualify and lunch to go for pickup. For more information on either option, please call the center. Lunch this week is as follows, Friday, Feb. 19 – turkey salad sandwich, Monday, Feb. 22 – sloppy Joe with bun, Wednesday, Feb. 14 – teriyaki meatballs. The cost of the meals is a suggested donation of $4 for those 60 and over and a $5 fee for everyone else. The lunch menu is subject to change without notice due to COVID-19. The LOACC is undergoing a remodel and the services are housed in temporary locations. For more information, please call the ACC front desk at 503-635-3758.
