Jottings: Response to Jeanie Anderson's lyrics
Response to Jeanie Anderson's lyrics, asking the questions,
What will become of the children? Who will nurture the children? Who will give hope to the children?
The Children Answer.
Dear Aunt Jeanie,
We are the children you wish to nourish. You wish to give us what you had, what you gave, what you were, what you missed and what you want to erase.
Keep your heart open to us. Rest, quietly. Wait. Listen to your breath, your heart your music and poetry. We will arrive — two, three, or more, when your presence is assured.
We will ask you to listen, for the answers you request. Giving you information you've not heard. You will hear the chorus of our unexpected wisdom in your presence.
We will tell you what brought us to birth at this time. We will teach you to release olden times; to trust us as you longed to trust yourselves as children. The world you want may not be the world you know. Be hopeful, stay open, nurture the child you were. Enable the best of what you see and hear from us.
Take delight in, exploration, discovery, uniqueness, diversity. Accept generational change, observe humanity evolving. Learn the children's language. Allow time and life its way. We thank you for caring, The Children
