The North Willamette Horticulture Society will hold their annual conference and trade show from Jan. 9-11 at the Clackamas County Event Center. For more information, contact Jan Egli at 971-373-5912.


The Molalla River School District will hold a regular school board meeting on Thursday, Jan. 12 at 7 p.m. at the district office. The public is invited to attend.


Reservations must be made by Jan. 12 for the Molalla Area Chamber of Commerce annual fundraiser banquet and auction. This year's event is called Diamonds & Ice, and it will take place at Legends/Arrowhead on HWY 213 on Saturday, Jan. 27. The no host bar opens at 6:30 p.m. and dinner will be served at 7 p.m. The cost for dinner is $35 each, $200 with one bottle of wine for a table of four and $400 with two bottles of wine for a table of eight. Colton Helping Hands will have its annual meeting on Tuesday, Jan. 16, at 4 p.m. at the Colton Community Center.

The meeting is open to the public.

A workshop called Disaster Preparedness for Seniors will be held Thursday, Jan. 18, from 10:45-11:45 a.m. at the Molalla Adult Community Center. Learn how to protect yourself and cope with winter weather issues. What would you do if basic services such as water, gas, electric or communications was cut off.


A new GriefShare support group series will being on Monday, Jan. 22, at the Molalla Adult Community Center. This is a 13-week support group offering help and encouragement after the death of a spouse, child, family member or friend. Meetings are from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. each Monday. An Arthritis Education workshop will be held Tuesday, Jan. 23, from 10:45-11:45 a.m. at the Molalla Adult Community Center. What is arthritis, how does it affect your body and what are some ways to manager/treat the pain? Jenn Fifer from Home Instead Senior care will be the speaker.



Molalla Warming Center is now open at 209 Kennel Avenue from 6 p.m. to 8 a.m. on nights that the National Weather Service projects will reach 33 degrees Fahrenheit or lower. The City of Molalla is looking for volunteers for its Wastewater Facility and Collection Advisory Committee. To pick up a short application, visit the city hall offices at 117 Molalla Ave. For more information call 503-829-6855.


What should Molalla look and feel like in the future is a question the City of Molalla wants help in determining. To that end, the city is ready for phase 2 of the Molalla Area Visioning Project, and it wants community input.

With phase 1 complete, the city now turns to phase 2, which includes a survey that will be open to the public through Jan. 31, 2018. To access the survey, go to


Molalla United Methodist Church will open a soup kitchen every Tuesday from 4 to 6 p.m. and the fourth Saturday of each month from 1 to 3 p.m. They will provide a nutritious meal at no charge to those who desire or need them. Donations of juice, cheese, veggies, fruit and finances are welcome. The soup kitchen also needs volunteers to help cook, serve, wash dishes, and clean tables.

A "Study the Bible" program will feature an eight-week free class through Molalla's Church of Christ. The program can be done from home and provides direction and materials.

The Molalla Aquatic District holds public Regular Board Meetings every Tuesday at the Molalla Aquatic Center. The fourth Tuesday meetings are at 7 p.m. and other Tuesday meetings are at 6:30 p.m. The agenda for each upcoming meeting is posted at


Alcoholics Anonymous meetings at the Molalla Adult Community Center are held every Monday, Wednesday and Friday, at 3 p.m. The center is at 315 Kennel Ave., in Molalla.


The Molalla Aquatic Center seeks community input on a survey related to pool operations. Visit the website at, select 'survey' from the options, and fill out the survey. The site also includes updates, meetings notices and other information.


A grief support group will meet each Tuesday from Sept. 12 through Dec. 12 at 6:30-8:30 p.m. at the Molalla Adult Community Center. The meetings are open to anyone struggling from loss.

The Molalla Adult Community Center will hold a class, Preventing Type 2 Diabetes, on Sept.21, 12:45-1:45 p.m. p.m. This class will meet once a week for several months. The class focuses on prevention, but those who have been diagnosed already are also welcome. A donation of $10 for materials is suggested.


A Parkinson's Disease Support Group has started up in Molalla.

The group meets on the third Tuesday of the month at 10 a.m. at the Molalla Adult Community Center. Families, care partners and friends are welcome. For more information, contact Debbie at 503-829-6008.


Monday Night Miracles Al-Anon Family Group (AFG) meets at the Smyrna United Church of Christ, 31119 S. Hwy 170 on Mondays at 7:30 p.m. Molalla AFG meets at the Molalla United Methodist Church, 111 Mathias Road, on Wednesdays at 8 p.m.
