Before Molalla River School District adopts new health curriculum, the materials will be available for the community to preview

Molalla River School District is looking to adopt new health curriculum. In accordance with state law, before recommending the curriculum to the school board, the Health and Wellness Curriculum Team is making sample materials available for the community to preview.

The proposed materials for secondary education, grades 6-12, will be on display at Molalla River Middle School and Molalla High School from now until Feb. 18, when they will be moved to the public library and remain on display until March 2.

The proposed materials for elementary education, grades K-5, will be on display at the following locations on the specified dates:

-Molalla Elementary School: until Feb. 9

-Rural Dell Elementary: Feb. 12-14

-Mulino Elementary: Feb. 15-16

-Clarkes Elementary: Feb. 19

-Molalla Public Library: Feb. 20 to March 2

In addition, a hosted preview of the materials will be held in the conference room at the Molalla Public Library on Feb. 20 from 2-4 p.m. and Feb. 27 from 6-7:30 p.m. District Administrator Larry Conley will be available to answer questions at the library during business hours on those dates.

Superintendent Tony Mann said that community feedback will be taken into consideration. The team will make a recommendation presentation to the school board at the March 8 regular school board meeting.
