The Molalla Aquatic District is seeking volunteers to serve on the budget committee for next fiscal year's budget—July 2018 to June 2019. The Relay for Life of South Clackamas County will hold a joint team meeting on Wednesday, March 21, at Smyrna United Church of Christ, 31119 S. Hwy. 170, at 7 p.m. Discussion will include where the money goes and fundraising. Lots of information, planning, and resources will be shared about this year's Relay. The South Clackamas County CPO will meet at the fire hall on 36715 S. Sawtell Rd., Molalla, Or on March 22 2018 at 7 p.m. One of the topics to be discussed is the Orthodox Easter and the impact on South Clackamas Roads and neighborhood.


The 34th annual Wooden Shoe Tulip Fest opens Friday, March 23. An expansive 40 acres of tulips and daffodils in nearly 120 varieties and multiple colors are the backdrop to a host of activities. The Tulip Fest is open daily through April 30. The Wooden Shoe Tulip Fest if open from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. each day. Admission is $5 per person ages 13 and above with a maximum car charge of $20. Children ages 12 and younger are free. There are special events planned for this year's event as well. For more information, check the website at


Colton Elementary School, 30437 South Grays Hill Road, offers full-day kindergarten classes. The school is trying to locate all children within the Colton school district who will be eligible for kindergarten this fall.

The Molalla Public Library is hosting Floam and Slime Fun for children up to fifth-grade on Friday, March 30 at 2:30 p.m.


The Colton community Easter egg hunt will be held in the fields behind Colton Elementary School, 30437 South Grays Hill Road, on Saturday March 31 from 10-11 a.m. The event, sponsored by the Colton Booster Club and headed up this year by Chelsea Skogan-Boyd, already has 19 grand prize baskets, 25 goodie bags from the Easter bunny, eight buckets, two free adult raffles, two free teenager raffles and hundreds of eggs to hunt. The Easter bunny will be visiting and handing out treats. Children ages under two through fifth grade are invited to join in. Children will need containers for egg collecting.


The new movie, "Pokemon: I choose You!," will show on Saturday, March 31 at 1 p.m. at the Molalla Public Library. Then stick around for some Pokemon game time. Bring along your cards and handheld video games to battle other Pokemon trainers.


Coltontel's annual meeting for members will be held in the Colton Middle School, 21580 South Schieffer Road, on Thursday April, 19. There will be a social at 6 p.m. and the meeting will begin at 6:30 p.m. Refreshments will be provided.

Meeting packets will be mailed to all member the first of April.


The Oregon Renaissance Faire, held June 9-10 and 16-17 at the Clackamas County Event Center in Canby, is looking for area volunteers to help with the show. An informational meeting will be held Saturday, March 24, from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Canby Public Library. There are many ways volunteers can be part of the faire, from building and taking down the village to volunteer actors.
