Fundraisers want to thank the Molalla community for helping raise funds for the senior drug- and alcohol-free graduation party

Some parents of Molalla High School seniors held "The Traveling Toilet" fundraiser during the month of April to raise funds for a senior drug- and alcohol-free graduation party, and it was a big success.

The event involved the (friendly) dumping of a choice of five colorful toilets at area businesses or homes. The recipients then paid to have it removed and/or sent elsewhere.

The MHS Spirit toilet ended its journey at the Molalla Pioneer office, save for one last stop, along with all of the other four toilets, at the house of senior parent Christina Conroy.

In all, they raised $1,731.

The senior parent committee has been holding other fundraisers as well to contribute to the grad party. They want to thank the businesses and individuals that have supported their fundraising efforts.

"Due to all of these generous contributions, we will be able to host a memorable finale to their Molalla High School experience," said senior parent Desiree Barrett.

The MHS Class of 2018 graduation will take place on Saturday, June 9 at 1:00 p.m. at Capasso Court. The details and location of the senior grad party will be a surprise.
