Wildflower Dance Studio opens in Molalla
An opportunity and a dream pursued has led Danielle Redfield and her family to a new business venture in Molalla.
Redfield recently opened the doors to Wildflower Dance Studio in the heart of Molalla, fulfilling a desire she'd had for some time. With the May closing of Dolce Dance, Redfield felt a void in what is a pretty active dance community within the Molalla area.
"I've had three daughters dancing there for years, so a bunch of dance families had nowhere to go," said Redfield. "It had always been a dream of mine to own a dance studio, so my husband and I decided to just go for it."
And the result is a renovated space at 101 N. Molalla Ave. that's now Wildflower Dance Studio.
The studio will still house the Ignite competitive dance crew and serve as the home of the Buckeroo Belles (which Redfield coaches), but will also offer classes in hip-hop, jazz, tap, ballet and other forms, as well as fitness classes.
With the grand opening on Aug. 4, the studio is officially open, something Redfield admitted was a bit "surreal."
"It's exciting and there's a bunch of emotions," she said. "I get to show my girls that even though it's scary, you're never too old to try to follow your dream and make it a reality."
Auditions for the Ignite team will be Aug. 8 and the studio will host a dance came on Aug. 13.
