What's Up: Aug. 15-21
CLACKAMAS COUNTY FAIR
The Clackamas County Fair and Rodeo opens on Tuesday, Aug. 14 beginning at 10 a.m. with opening ceremonies at 11 a.m. The fair continues through Saturday, Aug. 18, closing at midnight. As always, the fair features animals, musical acts, food, rides and more. This year, in honor of the 4-H 100th anniversary, admission is free to all on Thursday until 3 p.m. The rodeo happens every night of the fair at 7:30 p.m. (gates open at 6:30 p.m.).
THE KILTED MAN
Matthew Gurnsey, also known as "The Kilted Man," is visiting the Molalla Public Library on Thursday, Aug. 16 at 6 p.m. Come enjoy Celtic music for all ages in the conference room.
YOGA AND WINE TASTING
King's Raven Winery is hosting a yoga and wine tasting event on Thursday, Aug. 16 from 6-7:30 p.m. at the winery, located at 11603 S. New Era Rd. in Oregon City. The class includes 60 minutes of stress-relieving yoga and then wine tasting along with cheese and crackers. All chess players are welcome to join the chess club at Molalla Public Library. It's happening this month on Saturday, Aug. 18 at 10:30 a.m. at the library (at the tables by the computers). Play some chess and become strong players.
TMK RIBBON CUTTING
There will be a ribbon cutting for TMK Creamery on Tuesday, Aug. 21 at the business, located at 27221 S. Dryland Rd. Meet the cow-lebrities and mingle with the owners, the state dairy princess and U.S. Rep. Kurt Schrader.
DAIRY PRINCESS VISIT
The Dairy Princess from Alpenrose Dairy is visiting the Molalla Public Library on Wednesday, Aug. 22 at 1 p.m. She will bring stories and chocolate milk. As always, the event is free for guests.
The ever-popular Daniela Mahoney is teaching a wheat weaving workshop on Saturday, Aug. 25 at 2 p.m. at the Molalla Public Library. Students complete one or two small heart-shaped objects. Space is limited, so please sign up for this free crafting event. Visit the library or call 503-829-6855.
The Molalla Public Library is holding 12 weeks of U.S. Citizenship classes beginning on Thursday, Aug. 30 from 6-8 p.m. Sign-up is requested, but not required. There will be a Spanish speaker available for translation and assistance. Visit the library or call 503-829-6855.
The Molalla Heritage Apple Festival 2018 will be held on Saturday, Sept. 22 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Dibble House Museum Complex, 620 S. Molalla Ave. The Molalla Area Historical Society has hosted the festival since 1975. This event will feature homemade pies, cider pressing, butter-making, live music, local vendors and more. The festival is free, but MAHS welcomes donations to support them in their mission to preserve Molalla's rich history.
