Fresh produce at the peak of perfection on the Molalla Country Farm Loop
Don't miss out on fresh fruits and vegetables this time of the summer on the Molalla Country Farm Loop. With delicious produce including blueberries, tomatoes, potatoes and summer squash in season, consumers can either u-pick their harvest or find it ready-picked.
"During the first part of August the produce season is in full swing," said Mary Stewart, OSU Extension Agriculture Business and Marketing faculty. "Mid-season berries are still juicy and many tree fruits are ripe and ready. Several varieties of vegetables are at their peak of quality and selection."
On the Molalla Country Farm Loop, a driving route of 15 local farm stops, enjoy organic blueberries at MoonRidge farms, as well as a broad variety of local and fresh produce at the Molalla Farmers Market every Thursday through Sept. 2. Remember to check a farm's website, Facebook or phone message to confirm daily availability of fresh produce.
Oregon Farm Loop connects local family farms and value-added businesses with the local and traveling public, and is a program of Oregon Agritourism Partnership (OAP), an Oregon nonprofit. OAP programs are made possible with the help of various partners, including local family farms, farmers markets, OSU Extension Service and Clackamas County Tourism and Cultural Affairs.
