Mark the calendars for Sept. 22 events in Molalla
On Sept. 22, two festivals will be held adjacent to each other marking a day of fun, games, music, food and when Celebrate Molalla and the older Apple Fest come together. The Celebration from the city will mark the continuation of the Visioning Process.
The Celebration will be held from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. and feature everything from music to a corn hole tournament. It's not just for adults, but for the kiddies too. There's a Kids' Craft Tent, martial arts demonstration, a car show, a beer and wine garden and a raffle with prices. There also will be face painters, music in a covered pavilion, jewelry makers, metal crafters, soap makers, community service organizations, balloon artists, wood carvers, loggers and dance teams.
One feature will be sculptures by Ben Dye that were determined by Grande Ronde native Americans, a city art committee and several city council members. The sculptures will become part of a city Heritage Walk.
All of this will join the Apple Fest from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. with pies, apples, nuts, honey and breads for sale along with living history demonstrations of weaving, cider pressing, tatting, quilts, handcrafted items and food.
