Water restrictions are still in place as stream flows in Molalla River still insufficient as of last week

According to Jan Kaforski at the Colton Water District: Colton is still under water restrictions.

The Oregon Water Resources Department will end the restrictions only when the stream flows in the Molalla River are sufficient; and as of measurements taken last week, they were not.

The restrictions mandate:

  • No irrigation of crops or pasture grazing.
  • No watering of lawns, gardens, landscape.
  • No watering anything outside, no washing vehicles, no pressure washing, etc.

Fines start at $500 and go up from there. Any fine(s) assessed to Colton Water District will be passed along to the customer violating the mandatory water restriction.
