Victim was thrown from his Dodge pickup after hitting a guardrail and going down an embankment

A Mulino man died Wednesday morning in a single vehicle crash along I-84. Zachary Rivera, 32, of Mulino, was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident by medical personnel at the scene. According to the Oregon State Police, at about 6:15 a.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 14, emergency personnel were called to a report of a single car accident on I-84 near milepost 89. According to police, the 2000 Dodge Ram pickup driven by Rivera was westbound on I-84 when the vehicle hit a guardrail, crossed both lanes, and went down an embankment on the south side of I-84.

Rivera, who was not wearing a seatbelt, was thrown from the pickup and sustained fatal injuries that led to his death.
