Molalla Library Happenings for March
One new monthly activity for adults is a book Club. Although the first meeting occurred on March 2, you can still attend. On March 2, those attending chose a book from three possibilities—"Mrs. Lincoln's Dressmaker" by Jennifer Chiaverini; The Shape of Water by Guillermo del Toro and Daniel Kraus; or "Go Set a Watchman" by William Heinemann. Learn what was discussed at the first meeting from a librarian to find out. Discussion about the book will be at the next monthly meeting in April.
March 23 features Storytime and Duplo Play at 10:30 a.m. Later on March 23 is STEAM club at 2 p.m. for ages 10 to 18.
Tuesday, March 26 children age 4-9 can play STEAM activities, making non-borax slime. The next day, Wednesday. March 27 at 11 a.m. it's time for Spring Break crafts and later that day at 2 p.m. it's Family Movie Day, with a family movie to be announced.
On Thursday, March 28 at 4 p.m. there's a concert with Dana and Susan Robinson, with folk songs and blue grass for the entire family.
Friday, March 29 features Loteria, the Mexican Bingo game where everyone wins something.
The final Spring Break activity features an ORCA party on March 30. No, it's not a whale, it's Oregon Reader's Choice Awards. It's a winter reading program for third- to 12th-grade readers. The rules are simple: first sign up at the Molalla Library and receive a bookmark with the books listed on them. You also can find the books at the ORCA website. Read at least two books from one of the lists. Choose whichever list you like, but make sure the two are from the same list.
Through March 30, vote at the Molalla Library. Your vote earns you a gift card and raffle ticket for special prizes at the ORCA Pizza & Ice Cream party on March 30 from 12 to 1:30 p.m. You don't have to be present to win the raffle ticket. But if you want you can read two books from more than one list and receive an extra raffle ticket.
