Safe Routes to School Poster Art Contest open to K-8 Molalla River School District students

Students in Molalla River School District are being given a special opportunity to participate in the first annual Safe Routes to School Poster Art Contest.

Molalla students can submit original artwork on the benefits of walking, biking and using other foot-powered ways to get to school, Clackamas County SRTS announced in a press release. Prizes will be awarded, and the winning student's artwork will be featured on posters, brochures and more.

ANNA KOLOSYUK ON UNSPLASH - Students in Molalla River School District are being given an opportunity to participate in the first annual Safe Routes to School Poster Art Contest.

To enter, students should submit their hand-drawn art, using pencil, crayons, colored pencils, pens or paint, to their school between April 1-30. Find the entry form here. Artwork will be judged based on original concept, visual design and composition, communication of the theme and storytelling.

Prizes include a $100 gift card for first place, $50 gift card for second place and $25 gift card for third place in three grade groups: K-2, 3-5 and 6-8.

Contest winners will be announced by Friday, May 31.
