At state last month, the chapter brought home 31 awards and two elected officers

"I am in awe of these students," said Adviser Corri Ellis. "We are in our fourth year and the caliber of presentations and competition preparation is just getting better and better."

In all, the chapter placed in 31 events, including first-place wins for the chapter's American Enterprise Project and their digital scrapbook. Jessica Salvador Lopez won the chapter's final first-place prize for Mobile App Development.

Additionally, Cypress Barret was elected to the FBLA State President position—Molalla's second student in four years to be elected to this role—and Landon Sheckard was elected to the FBLA Mt. Hood Region Vice President position.

For the second year in a row, Principal Brad Berzinski attended the event to support Molalla's students, and of course, he was impressed.

"Students work very hard in preparation for the events and it's rewarding to see them representing Molalla High School so well," Berzinski said. "The conference gives students and opportunity to showcase their knowledge and talent in areas that will help them succeed as they move into the workforce. It was also great to see two of our Molalla High School students elected to state officer positions."

Now, seventeen of the chapter's students continue fundraising to attend and compete at nationals in San Antonio, Texas this June.

Looking ahead for the chapter as a whole, Ellis said she would like to continue growing its membership and even bring FBLA to the middle school level.
