Picnic time in Elwood
Everyone is welcome at the annual Elwood potluck picnic that will held in the event space next to the Elwood Cemetery, 24503 South Elwood Road, this Sunday, Aug. 11 starting at 1 p.m. You are encouraged to bring your favorite dish to share. Water and lemonade will be provided as will cups, napkins, plates and utensils. You are encourage to bring chairs and, if you have pop-up tables, there will be room to set those up. The band Strumshine will be playing and there will be a craft table for the kids.
Colton Clothes Closet offers free clothing to all
The Colton Clothes Closet is located in the lower level of the Parish Hall of Colton Lutheran Church on the corner of South Wall Street and South Highway 211. The clothing is free to anyone who wishes to stop by to shop.
There are some great choices for back-to-school wear, work and business clothing, coats, jackets, shoes, baby clothes and more. The Clothes Closet is open every Tuesday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
The Clothes Closet is an outreach of Colton Lutheran Church and all donations are tax-deductible.
To donate good quality used clothing, shoes, purses, etc. you may leave it any day in front of the door to the Parish Hall. If you want to volunteer at the Closet, please stop by any Tuesday during open hours and talk to the staff—volunteers are always needed.
