County plans to resurface Beavercreek Road
Clackamas County will begin resurfacing Beavercreek Road from Upland Highland Road to Henrici Road on Aug. 12. While the entire project likely won't be complete until mid-October, the road will be significantly impacted through Sept. 9. The crew isn't scheduled to work during the Labor Day weekend from noon on Aug. 30 through 7 a.m. on Sept. 3.
The work will be done from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. weekdays. However, the county noted there may be additional crews at work on additional weekend or at night depending on weather and other conditions. Beavercreek Road will remain open during construction, but drivers may be involved in lane closures with delays of up to 20 minutes at one time. There will be flaggers and pilot cars and the county is asking drivers to slow down and use caution near the work zone.
The county and Beavercreek Elementary School encourage people to use school transportation whenever possible to relieve congestion in the area. Parking on the shoulder of the road will be limited for the period of the project. Updates will be posted at www.bit.ly/roadClosures.
This project is part of the county's pavement preservation plan for 2019. It is funded through the county's share of state gas tax, vehicle registration fees and commercial weight-mile taxes. For information on additional improvement projects, visit www.clackamas.us/roads/worprogram.html.
