People with questions regarding food truck potential ordinance speak out to the mayor

Coffee with Mayor Keith Swigart is drawing more people. For the Sept. 3 meeting almost 10 people came to question Swigart and Alice Cannon, planning director, answered questions and showed interest in the possibility of food trucks in the city.

"There were at least seven or eight people at the hour meeting," said Cannon. They were asking questions and seemed very interested in the proposed idea for food trucks. And, she noted they also were asking about Food Truck Pods, more than one truck within a specific area.

But Cannon noted this is just beginning a community process, the beginning of public outreach and a community process.

"It has to fit into standards for the community," the planning director said.

Scheduling too has to be determined. Once the language for the food truck is worked out, it might be possible in late winter or early spring, she said.
