Molalla Fire holds 9-11 ceremony
The Molalla Rural Fire Protection District held a 9-11 ceremony on Sept. 11 to honor those who died on that day in 2001 including the nearly 3,000 who perished in the two trade centers and the pentagon and the 406 first responders as well as those who've passed from sickness caused from the buildings as they volunteered to find people and clean up the rubble.
About 80 people attended the short ceremony, which included a prayer, the timeline of the terrorism and a Bell Ceremony staffed by an Honor Guard that rang the bell 18 times. They also raised and lowered the flag in honor of these people and the National Anthem was sung.
