Brown, a screenwriter for the past 12 years, has won some awards which gave him the confidence to produce the movie "Confound."

He wrote the script and filmed the movie about a 12-year-old girl who finds herself waking up in the forest with amnesia. She doesn't know who she is or where she came from. But she knows how to fight based on mixed martial arts and she knows survival skills. She also knows the Bible.

Early on, she becomes aware that her mother has been kidnapped and she must find her. The hunt for her mom leads to fight scenes and other issues, but she meets a hitchhiker and is unaware whether he's a good or bad person. The story was inspired by scripture from 1 Corinthians 1:27, Brown said.

"There aren't many faith-based action movies," Brown said, but he managed to come up with the budget and the film. His characters are played mostly by people from Molalla, except for one of the main characters, Chris Lowry, the hitchhiker, who is from Amity. Another of the leads is Moriah Brown, his daughter, who plays the main character.

Just to whet your appetites, Brian Eberly and his wife are all in the movie. Eberly is the associate pastor at Foothills Community Church in Molalla. Both he and his wife are excited and happy about their parts. So excited, they are ready and willing to be part of the next movie, Brown said.

"We had a cast party and we all agreed that we should show it to the public," said Brown.

So, obviously the next step is to get the movie out to the public. Currently, Brown is shopping it around and hopes to get it on the Christian Cinema channel or Amazon Prime where he will get paid per stream.

The trailer is available on Facebook at "Confound movie" or on YouTube under "Confound the movie trailer."

After the premiere, there will be DVDs and bluerays for purchase. Foothills Community Church is located at 122 Grange Ave. in Molalla.
