Colton Corner: Elementary students jog and dunk
Colton Elementary School students held a Jog-A-Thon on Monday, Nov. 18. They earned $10,155.55. According to second-grade teacher Karen Danielson Groat, who headed up the fundraiser, the money will be spent to bring an artist-in-residence into the school.
On Tuesday, Dec. 17, the Jog-A-Thon lap winners had a chance to participate in a "dunk tank" assembly and throw balls at a target that when hit would drop their classroom teachers into the water tank. The school's gymnasium floor was filled with all the students as they cheered on those who had earned the chance to "dunk the teach."
