On Wednesday, March 18, a new baby boy was born alongside South Highway 211 in Colton.
Colton volunteer firefighter, Lieutenant Doug Dolney, was first on the scene.
Here is his story:
"I was the Duty Officer yesterday morning when the childbirth call came out. I was also the first one on scene. The call came out as a pregnancy in a vehicle pulled over on the side of the highway with a female in labor.
"When I arrived, the baby boy had been delivered and the baby's father had wrapped the baby in a t-shirt and tied a string around the umbilical cord.
"The newborn was breathing and was sleeping peacefully in his mother's arms.
"Molalla's medic arrived and took over patient care and transported the family to an area hospital."
