The nonprofit is putting together food baskets with everything needed for Thanksgiving and Christmas dinners

If you or anyone you know could use help stretching the budget to fit in a Thanksgiving meal, Colton Aid Network (CAN) is once again putting together food baskets with everything for the holiday dinner.

The sign-up forms for both Thanksgiving and Christmas baskets are available at the Colton Fire Department, 20987 S. Highway 211, or Coltontel, 20983 S. Highway 211. Forms are located outside the front office doors at both places.

For the Thanksgiving baskets, forms must be returned by Friday, Nov. 13. Baskets will be ready for pickup at the fire station at 9 a.m. Friday, Nov. 20.

"We have had to be creative this year in how we are doing things with no food drives for Thanksgiving," said Geri Fraijo, CAN president. "We have been blessed with sizable contributions from Par-Li Co Boutique, Volunteer Association of Colton Fire Department and Canyon Creek Bible Fellowship. These donations will allow us to purchase what is needed for this year's Thanksgiving baskets.

The Volunteer Association of Colton Rural Fire District is planning a food drive in December, and Gift-of-Giving cards will be available soon. More information will be upcoming about ways to help and the logistic difficulties of quarantining food, gifts, etc. before they can be delivered.
