One dead in icy Highway 213 crash
One person is dead and another transported to a hospital as a result of icy conditions on Highway 213 near South Union Hall Road on Saturday, Jan. 9.
Oregon State Police troopers and emergency personnel responded to the scene at around 8:15 a.m.
Preliminary investigation revealed a Toyota Tacoma, driven by Elina Inget, 66, of Eagle Point, was northbound when it lost control on the icy road and collided with a southbound Freightliner box truck driven by Colby Ransier, 33, of Silverton.
Inget suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced dead.
Ransier was transported to a local hospital with injuries.
Highway 213 southbound was closed for about four hours.
OSP was assisted by Clackamas County Sheriff's Office, Molalla Fire Department, Clackamas Fire and the Oregon Department of Transportation.
