Canby running program underway
Canby High School is organizing a summer running program. Those interested can meet at Canby High School's track at 8 a.m. daily. Most days are a run "how you feel" outing. Everyone is welcome to come and improve their fitness and have fun.

Canby Chamber golf tourney set for July 30
The Canby Area Chamber of Commerce will hold its annual golf tournament Friday, July 30, at Frontier Golf, 2965 N. Holly St. Lunch begins at 1 p.m. and the shotgun start is slated for 2 p.m.
Cost is $200 per team of four, and teams can register at www.canbyareachamber.com.
Colton MS plans vaccination clinic
Colton Middle School will host free COVID-19 vaccinations from 2 to 7 p.m. June 29 at 21580 S. Schieffer Road in Colton. This will be a second dose clinic for the Pfizer vaccine for ages 12 and older.

Molalla church to hold chicken barbecue July 4
St. James Church in Molalla will hold its annual chicken barbecue meal on July 4 as a drive-thru only event. The meals will be ready from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. that day and will include choice of half-chicken to go ($8) or a full chicken dinner, which will include baked potato, coleslaw, roll and dessert for $12.

Car show set for Canby on July 4

Free COVID-19 vaccinations will be available at the Canby Foursquare Church, 2350 S.E. Territorial Road from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesdays through July.
The clinic will offer the Moderna vaccine and is open for first or second doses. The event is open to those who live in Clackamas County. Walk-ins are welcome or schedule an appointment through the website: https://web3.clackamas.us/schedule/start/phvac.
Mark Prairie group fundraiser seeks donations
The Mark Prairie Historical Society will hold a benefit yard sale from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. July 9-10. The sale, which will benefit the restoration efforts for the Mark Prairie Schoolhouse, will be held at 1805 N. Ponderosa St., in Canby.
Organizers are seeking donations of items for the sale. They will not accept sofas, mattresses, electronics or clothing. For information on how to donate, contact Judi Aus through the website at markprairiehistoricalsocity.org or call 503-353-6563.
The circa 1890 historical schoolhouse was badly damaged during the February ice storm. It sits on two acres south of Canby. The Mark Prairie Historical Society membership is working to raise funds to help restore the schoolhouse.
