Commissioners say they want to hear about community concerns, needs Wednesday, Oct. 6 from 5:30-7 p.m.

Clackamas County commissioners will be hosting a virtual town hall providing community members an opportunity to communicate their concerns and needs related to child care.

At the virtual event, set to take place Wednesday, Oct. 6 from 5:30-7 p.m., all parties related to the topic of child care are invited to make their voices heard by commissioners. Such parties include, but are not limited to parents, employers, day care and pre-school providers and nonprofits.

Specific information commissioners are interested in learning from community members includes:

-Whether or not they have child care needs currently, and what, if any, have been the challenges in getting care?

-If they currently have child care, what is working? What challenges have they had?

-If they are, or would like to become a child care provider, are they having any challenges that need to be addressed?

If they recently left the child care profession, why was that and is there anything that could make them return?

-What overarching issues involving child care should commissioners know about?

Live calls over Zoom will be given priority during the event, but all attendees or interested parties, including those unable to attend the live event, are asked to email comments or questions to This email address is being protected from spambots. Put "Child Care Town Hall" in the subject line when emailing the above address and provide a name and area. Interested parties please be advised that the board or the Chair reserves the right to stop comments that are out-of-order or off-topic.
