Molalla Moose Lodge slates veterans dinner

MOLALLA — The Molalla Moose Lodge will be holding a special meal to honor veterans and their spouses on Saturday, Nov. 12, from 5:30 to 7 p.m.

The meal is free for veterans/spouses. The dinner is also open to family, friends and the general public interested in having dinner and honoring veterans. Dinner will be meatloaf with sides and donations from non-veterans would be appreciated.

The Moose Lodge is at 419 Echerd Ave. in Molalla.

Christmas lighting event looking for more homes

CANBY — The Friends of the Canby Public Library will hold its 2nd Annual Christmas Tour of Lights contest this year. The self-guided tour (map included with ticket purchase) runs from Dec. 1 to 27 with voting ending Dec. 28.

"This year the Friends want more residents and visitors to enjoy the festivities available in Canby, so we've expanded the tour and voting to the month of December," Gayle Elizabeth, event organizer, said.

The Friends are looking for more homes to be included on this year's tour. Participants can win a variety of prizes and categories have been added this year, including Best Patriotic, Best Religious and Most Whimsical displays

Canby Legion Auxiliary sets monthly breakfast

CANBY — The Canby American Legion Auxiliary holds a breakfast fundraiser the first and third Sundays of each month. Nov. 20 will be the next breakfast, which features bacon, sausage and chicken fried steak, eggs are cooked to order, hash browns, pancakes, English muffin, biscuits and gravy or jam. Beverage choices include coffee, milk or juice.

Breakfast runs 8:30 to 11:30 a.m. Cost is $9 for guests ages over 10; ages 10 and under are $5.

The Legion Hall is at 424 NW 1st St. in Canby. Enter at Fir Street side door.

Coat drive continues at Cornerstone

CANBY — Cornerstone Wealth Management is having its annual coat drive. All coats collected will be distributed to those in need throughout the Canby area through The Canby Center. To donate, bring new or gently used coats to the coat barrel at 486 NW 2nd Ave or call 503-266-7431.

Molalla Christian Church to hold fundraiser

MOLALLA — Molalla Christian Church will hold a "treasure sale" on Friday and Saturday, Nov. 11-12, at the church. Friday's action runs 9 a.m. to 7 p.m., Saturday from 9 a.m. to noon.

Veterans will receive a free treat.

The church is at 3rd and Berkley streets.

MUHS reunion spanning ''74-'84 set for November

MOLALLA — A Molalla Union High School reunion for the classes of 1974 to 1984 will be held Sunday, Nov. 13, from 2 to 5 p.m. at the Molalla Area Historical Society. This event is a potluck and will also include tours of the museum, yearbooks available for sale and other items.

There is a $10 per person suggested donation for facility usage.

Canby Library offering swag-making classes

CANBY — The Canby Public Library will present "Crafting for Adults" on Wednesday, Nov. 30, at 3 and 4:30 p.m. participants will create a holiday swag using fresh greens.

Canby Grove offering holiday cookie event

CANBY — The Sixth Annual Cookie Bake, as part of Christmas at the Grove at the Canby Grove Christian Center, will run in two-hour blocks from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 3 and 10 in the dining hall.

Sugar cookie dough is $45 for a 10-pound bag and gingerbread dough is $40 for a 5-pound bag. All dough must be purchased online before the event. Frosting is also available for purchase.
