Cougars battle with tough Damascus Christian team at home Friday night, pull out the 10-point win

Country Christian's girls' basketball team is sitting comfortably in first place in the Valley 10 Conference with just five league game to go until the playoffs begin.

The Cougars grabbed their fourth win in a row last Friday as they beat Damascus Christian 42-32 in what was their closest league game thus far against a talented, young Eagles team.

Country Christian took a 10-8 lead at the end of the first quarter after a buzzer-beater from senior Sierra Ross, and then battled the rest of the game, eventually earning a ten-point win.

With the win, the Cougars maintain their perfect league record with just five games to go. This week, they get a break from league play in order to play two tough matchups against 2A Kennedy and 1A McKenzie, and will then resume Valley 10 play on Jan. 30 against Southwest Christian at home at 6 p.m.
