A pair of skills camps will be available for kids looking to hone their skills on the court

ARCHIVE PHOTO - Colton Vikings logo The Colton Hoop Camp is back. Put on by Greg and Teresa Adams, the camp will take place the week of June 25-29. From 9 a.m. to noon, kids in the first grade through fourth grade will work on honing their skills at the Colton Elementary Gym. Only the first 40 applicants will be accepted due to space restraints in the gym.

From 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. students in the fifth through ninth grades will have their turn at the Colton Middle School. Both camps will be available for boys and girls. The cost is $70 per person, with a $5 discount for each additional family member.

Also happening this summer is the Mt. Hood Team Camp. In its 23rd year, the teams camp is open to varsity 1A/2A/3A/4A schools and junior varsity 5A/6A schools as well. Participants will participate in 10 games (including a camp tournament), a college coach skill session, team competitions and practice sessions, and receive a camp shirt, championship shirt for tournament winner, and eight meals, three nights lodging, insurance, and use of Camp Adams for those that stay at the camp. All commuter teams will receive one complimentary lunch.

The girls' camp begins Sunday, June 17 and will go through Wednesday June 20. The boys' camp begins Wednesday, June 20 and goes through Saturday, June 23. Check in times for both camps are at noon. The cost to participate is $250 per person with a nonrefundable $500 deposit.
