A 16 team girls' basketball tournament took place on June 14-16, featuring Molalla, Colton

PIONEER PHOTO: TANNER RUSS - Molalla basketball took second place in a basketball tournament at Country Christian High School. Molalla—The regular season for the girls basketball team may be in the rearview, but that doesn't mean the games have stopped. At Country Christian High School, a 16 team tournament was held on June 14 15, and 16 that included some of the best teams from 1A all the way up to 4A.

Molalla ended up fairing the best out of the local teams, making it the finals of the tournament before falling to King's Way Christian School of Vancouver, Washington. Before that, Molalla had bested Crane and Colton to advance to the finale.

Colton, meanwhile, made it out of the quarter final round by besting the host team, Country Christian. After falling to Molalla, the Lady Vikings beat St. Paul in the third place matchup.

Country Christian did not fare well in the consolation side of the bracket. After falling to Colton, they lost to the 1A Crane Mustangs, who would go on to take the fourth place spot by besting Amity.
