After dropping two straight, Molalla beats Woodburn and Tillamook in tournament play

ARCHIVE PHOTO: TANNER RUSS - Molalla's girls team is now 4-4 on the season.After starting the season 2-2, Molalla girls basketball team is now 0-2 in it's most recent contests. The team was defeated by Stayton 56-23 on Monday, Dec. 17. Then, in the opening round of the Abby's Pizza Holiday Classic, they were defeated by the 3A Salem Academy Crusaders 60-28 on Thursday, Dec. 20.

At this point last year Molalla was 4-4, including losses to Oregon City's JV squad and Central High School, but with wins over Waldport and Seaside. This year, the team continues to battle teams in other classifications. To date, Molalla has played teams from 1A, 2A, 3A, 4A, and 5A.

The team returned in the 4A classification against the Woodburn Bulldogs in the next round of the North Marion based tournament on Friday, Dec. 21 and picked up the win 55-20.

In the next round, they bested Tillamook 46-32
